Book Review: I, Murderer by Tanmoy Bhattacharjee

The book is divided into three parts – The Crime, The Detective and The Culprit. A cleverly constructed scenario with a vivid and remarkable level of detail gives the narrative several different perspectives.

A detective story told from the killer’s perspective. The chapter titles are listed in order of the passage of time. Quick read. The introduction of the individuals and their contrasting personalities steal the show. The protagonist’s varied feelings were masterfully described. You get to experience shock, humour, thrills, tragedy, mystery, and drama in this complex case. The tension and interaction with Nimit’s emotions and brain have brilliantly portrayed. The twists and turns in the narrative are interesting.
