Book Review: Black Jade by Gloria Oliver

Amazing page-turner

This book is an unusual historical crime mystery set in 1930 Dallas, TX.

A mystery thriller with an interesting game plan, a list of suspects, and information gathered tactically with unexpected revelations surprises you. The plot is well crafted and how the prickly mystery unfolds is astonishing.

The author’s vivid description and observations make the mind-boggling puzzle play out before my eyes. The research findings on arsenic are enlightening. It’s easy to read yet puts your mind to work.

I loved Jacques’ point of view narration of the plot and the communication codes between Jacques and Daiyu Wu.

Definitely a good read full of mystery!
