Book Review: Can Love Happen Twice? By Ravinder Singh

True love is unconditional – Awesome and touching story…

The story starts with the author coping with his emotional and mental breakdown in a rehabilitation center in Shimla. His friends meet up at a radio station interview. They read the notes he has in his diary which keeps the audience anxious to know what is happening in the lives of the author and his lady love Simar.

The author describes beautifully how he gets adjusted to the new city Belgium, how love struck between them, the flashback and memories of Khushi, how Simar after reading his first book fell in love with him and what all they have to go through in their love life.

Simple and well-written. Languages – Hindi and French has been inculcated to keep the readers engrossed which they can relate to the incidents and feel lively while reading the book.

In his first book ” I too had a love story”, the author keeps forgetting the third W. He says the 3 W’s can make anything happen in this world. They are Wealth, Women & Wine.

I loved the moment in the book where he proposes to her on her birthday.  The Chapter on Simar being drunk for the first time adds humor to the story and also reveals the readers about how innocent she is and at the end of it, the love they have for each other melts us.

Unexpected events follow, differences in their opinions and how he copes with the changes in his life. The issues in the book must have been experienced in everyone’s life while thinking of marriage. Misconception and Conclusions arrived at a new phase of expectations, demands, and debates.

The fate he has to go through brought me tears in my eyes.

Breathtaking Climax… A love story beautifully portrayed.

Quotes in the book which I loved:

“Everything has a first time. That’s what life is all about.”

“Love, like life, is so insecure. It moves in our lives and occupies its sweet space in our hearts so easily. But it never guarantees that it will stay there forever. Probably that’s why it is so precious.”

“One can go miles to get the love of his life and then sacrifice a great deal to keep that love alive.”

“Change is the only constant. With time, things change, seasons change and, amidst a list of change-prone entities, we surely read that people change too.”

“True love is unconditional. And if it is a ‘Conditions Apply’ scenario, then it isn’t true love.”
