Book Review: Her Last Wish by Ajay K Pandey

True Story of Love👍👌

The first chapter begins with Vijay as a husband who comes to know from an unknown call that his wife is having HIV. He has arranged marriage with Astha. He is the only child, introvert and fulfills his parent’s wishes. How he met Astha and how was their lives after marriage.

Author’s 1st book was focussed on dengue, 2nd book on HIV. Along with the emotional journey of the story, we get awareness of the diseases and the effects of the same. The medical terms are discussed in simple terms where even the lame person can understand it.

Vijay making his wife’s six wishes come true to always see her smile and as a part of the seventh wish, becoming a writer of the book is awesome.

Book also focus on the father-son relationship. Dad’s strength to his son to fulfill the impossible wishes possible.

I loved the separate chapters of Astha’s friend, Mom, Dad and Daniel, it tells about each person’s characteristics and also allows us to get the better view from both angles. Dad’s chapter also let us know how Vijay became an introvert.

It also tells us how Vijay turns from introvert to a confident and outgoing person due to an unexpected turn of events.

I loved the starting quote in the book very much. “Always try to represent yourself as ‘happy’, because, initially it becomes your ‘look’, gradually it becomes your ‘habit’, and one day, it becomes your ‘personality’.”

Some of the extract from the book which I liked:

“A bird resting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking because it trusts its wings. Please understand, Vijay, you need to believe in yourself. Give in your best shot, my son.”

“If a child has poor self-esteem, it is because you advise them more than you encourage them. If a child lacks confidence, it means you have never allowed him to take any decisions.”

“Making someone happy with a lie is always better than hurting them with the truth.”

“Whatever I did, I did it without any fear or inhibitions, maybe because I didn’t have anything to lose.”

“I wanted to try everything that could give her happiness. I failed to understand why I wasn’t giving up as I had always done. I made up my mind to work upon the next impossible task.”

“The best thing about crying in the rains is that no one can notice your tears.”

“Someday, we will forget the pain, the reason we cried and who caused us that pain. After all, what matters is not the first, but the last chapter of our life, which shows how well we ran in the race. So smile, laugh, forgive, believe and love all over again.”

“Any good looking person may not be as beautiful, but a person with a golden heart is always beautiful.”

How Vijay and his family make her wishes come true by their infinite love is incredible and marvelous. Humanity and love will win. Vijay is a true winner and hero to Astha.

Author’s masterpiece work of writing and it’s a true love story indeed….
